On April 21st Franz has been competing at the tough Peter Café Sport Triathlon race in Azores. After 20 miles crossing between Island of Sao Jorge and Island of Pico on windsurfing, 40 kilometers on MTB up to Pico - Portugal’s highest mountain – Franz completed his challenge crossing the last 6 miles of open ocean crossing between Pico and Faial on his Starboard Race 14′ arriving to the port of Horta on the Island of Faial, in eight hours and twenty minutes.
Franz is the first man crossing the channel between Island of Pico and Island of Faial on a stand up paddle board and therefore set an important benchmark for the ones who would like to follow his adventure. Congratulation Franz!
